How to Make Funnel Cake
Mix the funnel cake mix per the directions on the can/box. This should look just a little thinner than pancake batter. (note: I do not recommend using pancake batter. They do not taste near as good, and they hold more grease) In the frying pan poor in about 1/2" of oil in the pan, or as desired. Then place your ring in the grease. Heat the grease to 375 degrees, and be sure to use the thermometer to check the temperature.

Temperature is very important when cooking funnel cakes!

Next using the measuring cup or funnel start to drizzle your mix inside the ring. It is best to go in a circle then crisscross over the top. Trust me your first one will always look a little to be desired. Do not make the cake to thick because it will not cook all the way through. Keep the batter somewhat thin so they cook quickly. As soon as the cake starts to stay together remove the ring. When golden brown flip to fry the other side. Remove cake and place on a paper towel to absorb some of the grease. Lightly Cover cake with Powder Sugar or any other preference.

Before frying another cake be sure your grease temperature goes back up to 375 degrees then repeat the process.
